Stage 1
Getting Your Learner Licence:
The learner licence theory test is a computer-based, 35-question, multi-choice test that assesses your knowledge of road rules and safe driving practices.
It contains general road code questions, and specialist questions related to the class you are applying for.
Everything you need to pass the test is in the Official New Zealand road code. Also you can go to www.drive.govt.nz for a full interactive way to learn the roade code online, answer questions and track your progress.
Stage 2
Getting Your Restricted Licence:
Once you have your learner licence, you can start to learn to drive in a car with a supervisor and work towards getting your restricted licence.
Independence Driving School can teach you everything you need to know about how to become a safe driver for life and to prepare you for the test, including which skills to practise, how to book, what happens during the test, and what it means for you once you’ve passed.

Stage 3
Getting Your Full Licence:
The third and final step to becoming a fully licenced car driver is to get your full licence. This involves a practical driving test to assess your driving skills and ability to maintain safe driving behaviours.
Independence Driving School can help you with refresher driving courses and practical mock tests to see if you are ready.
